Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Effective date: March 1, 2026
Introduction
TrustedHearth (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at trustedhearth.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
We built TrustedHearth with a simple principle: your personal information belongs to you. We collect only what we need to connect homeowners with chimney and fireplace professionals, and we never sell your data to third parties.
Information We Collect
Lead Form Submissions (Homeowners)
When you submit a contact form to reach a listed professional, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- Your zip code
- A description of the service you need
Contractor Accounts (Professionals)
When a chimney or fireplace professional claims their listing, we collect:
- Email address and password (securely hashed)
- Business contact information
- Credential and certification details for verification
Automatically Collected Information
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. Plausible collects only aggregate data such as page views, referral sources, and general geographic region. No individual visitor profiles are created.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Transmit lead inquiries — When you submit a contact form, your information is sent directly to the professional you selected. Your inquiry goes to one business, not multiple.
- Send email notifications — We notify professionals when they receive a new lead and send you a confirmation of your inquiry.
- Manage contractor accounts — We use account information to authenticate professionals and let them manage their listings.
- Improve the directory — Aggregate, non-personal analytics help us understand which pages are useful and where to expand coverage.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
- We do not share your contact information with multiple contractors. When you reach out to a professional, only that business receives your information.
- We do not build advertising profiles or track you across websites.
Cookies
TrustedHearth uses minimal cookies. Plausible Analytics is entirely cookieless. The only cookie we set is a session cookie for logged-in contractor accounts, which is necessary for authentication and expires when you close your browser or log out.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate TrustedHearth:
- Neon — Database hosting (stores directory data and lead submissions)
- Resend — Transactional email delivery (sends lead notifications)
- Render — Application hosting
- Plausible Analytics — Privacy-focused, cookieless website analytics
Each of these providers processes data only as necessary to provide their services and in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Data Retention
Lead submissions are stored indefinitely to provide a record of inquiries for both homeowners and professionals. Contractor accounts and associated data are retained for as long as the account is active.
Homeowner data: If you submitted a lead form and would like your personal information deleted, contact us at [email protected] and we will process your request within 30 days.
Business listing data: Business listings on TrustedHearth are compiled from publicly available sources including state licensing databases, industry certification registries, and public business records. Because this information is already public, business listing data is not subject to deletion requests. If your listing contains a factual error, contact us to request a correction.
Children's Privacy
TrustedHearth is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific rights:
- Right to know — You can request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to delete — You can request that we delete personal information you provided to us (such as lead form submissions or account data). Business listing data compiled from public sources is not subject to deletion requests.
- Right to opt out of sale — We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to non-discrimination — We will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
